It seems as though every spiritual website I have encountered, every testimony I have heard is so cut and dry. Like everyone else meets Jesus, is saved and never looks back. My truth is much, much messier. It is my hope that by sharing my story, my insights and my path, I can inspire others to live their own truth fearlessly.
The journey for me has always been a blend of East meets West. Jesus meets Buddha. Self-realization meets self sabotage. I know I can't be the only one. I don't fit into a neat little package with a bow. And the older I get, the more I realize I don't want to.
After the birth of my second child I have been blessed with the gift of time. Crazy right? Who would think adding a second child to the mix would actually give me more spare time. Bare with me...my oldest having just gone off to kindergarten paired with my resolution to stay home and care for my baby has given me some time to reevaluate my life. Instead of making excuses for why I can't pursue my path of yoga and faith I have decided to dive head first into my long neglected spiritual journey. I know it won't be easy or clear cut. I know there will be hiccups and snags, just as there have always been. Maybe you will find something in these pages that resonates with you. My hope is that you do. Maybe then I will realize #theuptightyogi is a banner many of us can wear.
Enjoy as you explore these pages for information and experiences pertaining to yoga, spirituality, nutrition and living your best life.
